4. The Queensland Government has established the Queensland Energy System Advisory Board to provide advice to the government in relation to Queensland’s energy transition. 6. QFF’s hail plate monitoring trial is to be expanded by the University of Queensland and Bureau of Meteorology through funding from the latest Queensland Resilience and Risk Reduction Fund (QRRRF) investment round. QFF will remain a delivery partner and farms currently in the trial will be offered the opportunity to participate in the expanded program. Read more here.

8. The Export Control Amendment (Ending Live Sheep Exports by Sea) Bill 2024 passed the Senate by 33 votes to 30 last week. The announcement has been met with dismay from farmers who had invested into significant reforms for the trade, resulting in world-leading animal welfare outcomes. Read more here.
